Black Lives Matter Tapestry Pattern

I am so excited to release this pattern! I have been working on it for some time and it has been very dear to my heart.

I want to start by saying I do not make any ad revenue on my blog at the time of releasing this pattern. Any ads are placed as a result of this being a free WordPress account. The only revenue I make is if you purchase something through one of my affiliate links. I want to be completely transparent about this because I want you to understand that I am not posting this for personal gain or capitalizing on the pain of others.

With that being said, I am asking that if you are able and find value in this pattern you donate to an organization in your local community helping to end systemic racism.

As always, I believe in transparency. If you have questions about where I stand or my beliefs I am happy to engage in a healthy dialogue with you.

So without further ado here is the newest pattern:

Notes:

**This is a free pattern, but if you feel led and are able, I would love for you to donate to an organization doing work in your community to end systemic racism. I did not require a donation or donate profits for this pattern because I do not want price to hinder people who want to share this message.**

This pattern is worked using tapestry crochet. You will carry both colors of yarn throughout the pattern crocheting over the unused colors. Here is a great YouTube tutorial video on tapestry crochet: https://youtu.be/_wGsqonucco

Make sure to start the black at the beginning and carry it all the way through to the end. Alternately you can start at row 7 and drop/pick up the yarn as your reach the black area.

The final row of the pattern will be to attach the tapestry to the dowel rod. Here is a great YouTube video on how to attach a piece to a dowel rod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdimDpjnMX8

If you have any concerns or issues with this pattern, please reach out to me. My email is modesttwine@gmail.com and I would love to help you!

Quick Tip: I highly recommend printing out this pattern and highlighting or marking each row as you complete it. This is what I do, and it helps me tremendously.

Gauge:

14 stitches x 11 rows in 4”

* Proper gauge for this pattern is not required.

Tassels

To create tassels cut yarn into 8” strips. Insert your hook from front to back. Pull up a loop. Pull yarn tails through the loops to secure the yarn. Trim to your desired length. I alternated between black and white, but you can create them in any color you like.
